Renate Buschmann has been the director of imai - Inter Media Art Institute, a foundation for video and media art in Düsseldorf, since 2008. She received her PhD in Art History from the University of Cologne and has worked as a writer and curator on several publications and exhibitions on the art of the 20th/21st centuries, speficially about the history of exhibition-making, photography and media art. Since 2006 she has been a postdoctoral research fellow at the Academy of Fine Arts Münster and lectures at the University of Cologne as well as at the Academy of Fine Arts Münster.
